Summer School

Summer School

Students can take a variety of classes during the summer. If you are interested in Summer School, please understand that students must reside in District 155 boundaries and meet other requirements in order to be eligible for enrollment. 

Driver’s education courses meet at the student’s home school.

A variety of special education courses and programs are offered during the summer.​ Information regarding Extended School Year-Special Education will be mailed to families after spring break.​ 

Any student who plans to attend summer school, including students with an IEP, should submit the completed registration form to the Student Services Department. Student services offices in all District 155 schools are open every weekday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the school year, and from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Mon.-Thurs.) during the summer.

Summer School Registration

Registration begins on February 5, 2026.

Send your registration to your school’s student services department. Students are not confirmed in a course until all fees have been paid online through Skyward Family Access, which will be added once the paperwork has been received.

Tuition and Fees

Course-Specific Fees:

Visual Art and Technology $15 Supply Fee (plus $220 semester tuition) There is no tuition associated with enrollment in the Micro Internship course. *Note: There is a $15 late registration fee for all registrations received after the deadlines.*

Online Payment

If paying online, you must first submit the registration form to the Student Services Office. The Registrar will enter payment information in Skyward and send you an email with instructions on how to make your payment. Once payment has been made, your student will be enrolled in the class. Full payment must be made by May 22 for first semester or June 12 for second semester.

Check Payment

If paying by check, your check must accompany the registration form for your student to be enrolled in the class. Please make all checks payable to: District 155. If a check is returned for insufficient funds, the student will not be allowed to attend the class until the fee is paid (and absences will be accumulated).

Waiver of Fees

A waiver of fees for summer school coursework may be available for students who qualify. Please contact your child’s counselor for more information. Waivers are only available to students who complete the course for which they receive the fee waiver.

Class Credit
Unless otherwise noted, a ½-credit may be earned from successful completion of each semester of summer school coursework. Students may repeat courses they have previously passed, with the higher of the two grades entered on their permanent record. However, the student will only receive credit for the course once. Regardless of the course, all students must be present for the final exams.

Transportation

Bus service to Crystal Lake South High School is provided at no charge to students from Cary-Grove High School, Crystal Lake Central High School, and Prairie Ridge High School. The bus schedule is as follows:

Cary-Grove High School (main entrance) to Crystal Lake South High School | Leave at 6:45 a.m. | Return to CG by 12:55 p.m.

Crystal Lake Central (main entrance) to Crystal Lake South | Leave at 6:45 a.m. | Return to CLC by 12:55 p.m.

Prairie Ridge (front of school) to Crystal Lake South | Leave at 6:45 a.m.| Return to PR by 12:55 p.m.

Transportation Rules
Riding the bus is considered a privilege. Students risk losing this service for
inappropriate behaviors. For additional information, please review the section
regarding “Student Conduct” included in the student handbook.
