District 155 participates in the National School Lunch Program. Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines.
Applications should be completed and returned before registering your student for school. If you have a Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF number, you should receive a letter in the mail regarding your direct certification of lunch benefits and approval for waiver of fees. If you have any questions regarding the direct certification process or about the forms, please call the Student Services Office. If you do not receive a direct certification letter and would like to apply for fee waivers, forms will be available on the school’s website in July. Please complete this process by July 31.

Students who are eligible to receive free or reduced lunch must select 3 of the 5 offerings; 1 of these offerings must be a fruit or vegetable. Students are allowed to take all 5 offerings. A la carte items, like chips, cookies, beverages, and ice cream, are not eligible for paid, reduced, or free meals. Students can purchase a la carte items, but students cannot enter a negative balance on their accounts to purchase these items.
If a student only chooses a few items, they will be charged for those individual items, even if they qualify for a free or reduced lunch.
Please encourage your student to select a full meal to ensure they receive their free or reduced lunch if they qualify based on Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines. The National School Lunch Program does not include a la carte items. You could have a negative balance in your Skyward account if your student purchased a la carte items. We encourage you to check your student’s Skyward account and remind them to take advantage of the complete meal.

District 155 serves a breakfast meal every morning. The district participates in the School Breakfast Program, a federally assisted meal program for schools. Breakfast meals must meet Federal nutrition requirements. The School Breakfast Program must offer free or reduced-price breakfasts to eligible students. Schools that participate receive reimbursements from the USDA for each meal served.
Students approved for free & reduced lunches are eligible to receive a breakfast meal for free or for a reduced price. Signs are posted near the breakfast items indicating what items are required to be included to qualify as an eligible meal.
