Micro-Internship Program
The purpose of the Career Internship Program is to provide students the opportunity to explore and evaluate a career path before they make the educational and financial commitment.
District 155 offers this course at Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South, Prairie Ridge and Cary Grove High Schools. Students enrolled in this program take the class in an online/asynchronous format that offers the opportunity to explore career interests through experiential learning. The course includes internship preparation activities such as career exploration, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation and exit activities. Internship hours are completed via in-person or virtual opportunities.
Along the way, we hope they will develop essential workplace skills, habits, and attitudes and gain valuable experiences that are just not available in the high school classroom.
