Career Experiences Program

D155's Career Experience Program provides all students with an opportunity to explore careers they’re interested in before they graduate high school. Our work begins with incoming freshman by engaging them in career assessments, setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (S.M.A.R.T.) goals, identifying career clusters, and creating a four-year course plan to help build career awareness. By senior year, students will have engaged in a variety of experiences including job shadowing, internships, career fairs, and resume workshops to help provide them with the tools necessary for success after graduation. The district was awarded a $1.5 million grant from Advance McHenry County to implement the program. Our goal is to have every student leave with a purpose.
