D155 COVID-19 Response Plan & FAQ
The Illinois State Board of Education has released guidance for schools on the 2020-21 school year. This 60-page document has been much anticipated and will go a long way toward answering critical questions all of us share about what the 2020-21 school year will look like in terms of in-person learning, scheduling, transportation, wearing masks, social distancing and other measures intended to keep everyone safe and healthy, while also re-engaging students in the learning process.
In District 155, we are aware of the urgent need to communicate with our staff and families about what to expect next school year. Prior to releasing our own transition plan, we want our staff and all of our families to provide us their feedback in a survey we plan to share in early July. We anticipate releasing our own transition plan by mid to late July.
Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as our entire district navigates a situation together that none of us could have imagined.
Summer Camps: District 155 will cancel all summer camps. D155 will refund any camp fees that have been paid within the next two to four weeks. If/when the state allows contact, the district will communicate out possible options.
Summer Meal Distribution: Drive by summer lunches will continue to be available M-T-W-TH-F at Ladd Park on Coventry Lane from 11:00am - 1:00pm. All children 18 and younger are welcome. In case of rain: Vineyard Church, 7105 Virginia Road.
Graduation: Unfortunately, due to capacity and group gathering limits in the Illinois Phase 4 Revitalization Plan, we will not be able to host a traditional graduation ceremony, but we are excited to recognize the Class of 2020 by offering a personalized experience for each graduate and your family.
