District Enrollment Projections

The Demographic Trends and Enrollment Projections study conducted by Dr. John Kasarda was recently updated in December 2023. Dr. Kasarda has researched trends for District 155 and our four feeders since 1988 offering three different enrollment projections on a yearly basis. When examining District 155 Series B projections, enrollment will decline from 5,370 students in 2023-24 to a low of 5,180 (-190) in 2027-28 before rebounding and stabilizing in 2028-29 at 5,233 students. The peak enrollment projections for the district over the 16 year period are 5,445 and 5,446 students in years 2037-38 and 2038-39 respectively, which is an additional 266 students from the lowest year of projected enrollment in 2027-28. The decline will never fall below the district enrollment of 4,965 students when Prairie Ridge opened in 1997.
