Limited Remote Learning Opportunities
Optional remote learning will no longer be provided during the 2021-22 school year as a result of ISBE’s resolution on May 19, 2021. Remote learning will only be offered to those students who meet both of the following criteria:
- Student is not eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine as determined by the CDC, AND
- Student is under a quarantine order according to the McHenry County Department of Health or the Illinois Department of Public Health (most often a student under the age of 12).
Full Remote Learning for Semester
Illinois School Code and the ISBE Statute will guide the process to determine if a student is eligible for remote learning for the semester. Parents/Guardians will provide a request for “full remote learning option” with medical information to the Student Services Department. Then it will be evaluated by the District 155 Educational Services Department.
Students who qualify for remote learning will utilize “PLATO,” which provides courses and instruction online. These courses are not taught by District 155 staff, however, our academic division leaders have reviewed and approved courses to verify alignment with District 155 courses. A student will be allowed to take five (5) courses per semester.
