Expectations
BEHAVIOR
The library is open to students, faculty, and staff as a designated QUIET AREA.
Teachers may also bring classes to the library for instruction.During busy
hours, library staff may need to limit the number of students here from commons
and/or study hall.
Students will contribute to the peaceful, quiet atmosphere by engaging in the
following approved activities:
~
If you
need to talk, you will whisper to those at your table.
~
Leave
the blinds and furniture (chairs) arranged as you found them (no more than 4
to a table).
~
No visible eating! (Drinks in capped containers are okay but not by computers.)
~
Be productive by reading, writing, researching, studying, or doing homework--chess & puzzles are ok; cards are not.
~
Silent individual study in the back Reference area.
COMPUTER USE
Using the school computers is a privilege that comes with some necessary restrictions: no chat
rooms, no streaming video or music, no social networking sites (such as
MySpace.com or Facebook.com), no instant messaging, no personal CDs, no fantasy
sports, no games. Students may use email only for school work. Please be
responsible! Consult
your student handbook for general school rules and expectations.Procedures

HOLDS or RENEWALS
Log in to the online catalog to place holds, view your checkouts, and renew library
materials. All resources (except Reference) may be renewed twice before the due
date (unless someone else is waiting). By logging in, you can also submit
ratings and write reviews!
FINES
Late fees accumulate on school days only, at $.10 per day. Offer to pay the fine
when you return the resource—we’ll cut your fine in half! If you have an item
90 days overdue, we consider it “lost.” You then owe the item’s replacement cost
OR the material plus a $5.00 re-shelving fee. Although we send overdue
reminders in a variety of ways, you are responsible for
maintaining your library account.
