2009-10 REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: PLEASE PARK IN THE UPPER PARKING LOT AND ENTER DOOR 1 (MAIN ENTRANCE).

Registration for the 2009-10 school year is scheduled for August 13 -- August 18.

Freshmen Registration


IN ORDER TO REGISTER, ALL FRESHMEN MUST BRING

THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS TO REGISTRATION ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH:

  • Current physical examination on the school health form, signed by physician (dated within one year of registration).
  • Proof of up-to-date immunization recorded on the school health form and signed by the health provider. All students must be properly immunized against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, rubeola, rubella and mumps.
  • Emergency information card completed and signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Appropriate student fees as noted on the following Fee Information page.

Physical Education Uniforms

• All freshmen must purchase a Prairie Ridge P.E. uniform consisting of a t-shirt and shorts. Uniforms will be available during registration.

 

Yearbook / Student I.D. Pictures

• Underclass yearbook photographs will be taken during registration -- please wear appropriate clothing.

• Freshmen I.D. pictures will also be taken during registration.

 

Busing Information

• A representative from the Transportation Office will be at registration to answer your bus related questions.

Registration Fees

During registration, each student will be responsible for numerous fees and expenses depending on the student’s course work. Each student is required to pay a basic user fee of $66 which helps offset the purchase of textbooks and equipment loaned to the students on an annual basis. In addition to the basic user fee, students will pay for consumable supplies and workbooks used in specific courses.

At registration students have the option of paying for a yearbook for the upcoming year. Students can also purchase an activity ticket, which allows the student into home athletic contests free and fine arts performances at a reduced charge.

Below is a list of fees and expenses encountered by freshmen during last year’s registration. Not all fees apply to each student, but you can get an idea of the costs if you know the student’s schedule and yearbook and activity fee preferences. Workbook prices and PE uniforms are subject to an increase from last year.   Visa and Master Charge will be accepted at registration.  Visa or Master Charge, however, will not be accepted for the purchase of parking permits.

Workbooks may be purchased at registration or from the school store. The school store is open each school day from 6:45 – 7:25 a.m. The school store does not carry normal supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks or paper.

 

The school store will not be open on Freshmen Orientation Day.

 

Driver Education Fees

Behind the Wheel Driver Education Fee           $65.00

State of Illinois Fee                                          $20.00

Driver’s Education Note: State law requires that no student will be permitted to take Driver Education courses unless (s)he has received passing grades in at least eight credit carrying courses during the previous two semesters of school.
