Registration Registration occurs for about a week during the month of August. Each day of registration is designated for a class, beginning with Freshmen and going through seniors. Students will need to bring certain items with them in order to register; please go to the Registration page for this information. What to expect As students enter for registration, they will encounter a series of stations. For example, students will be asked to turn in their school health form at one station, their emergency card at another, and take their photo for the yearbook and student ID at a different station. During registration, students will also receive their lockers, daily schedules, and textbooks. Students will pay for their fees at the last registration station. The Prairie Ridge Booster Club will also be present to offer students the opportunity to purchase PR spirit gear. Daily Schedule Courses at Prairie Ridge are held in different rooms. Students have 5 minute passing periods to move between classrooms. Students should look over their schedules after registration to find their lockers and classrooms, and to get an idea of how much time will be needed to move from room to room. When reading a schedule, students should focus on the class periods and room number. In the example below, notice that both semesters are printed on the schedule. Follow the first semester schedule. Notice that during the first period, this student will go to room S213 for Earth Science. This student will begin every day of the week in room S213. During the third period, this student will go to room N106 for Freshman study hall every day, and room S228 for fourth period, etc. However, notice that during second period, this student has three separate listings. This means that on each day of the week the student will be in different locations. On Monday, the student will stay in room S213 for a second period of Earth Science. On Tuesday, the student will go to Freshmen study hall. On Wednesday, the student will stay in room S213 for a course called Pathways to the Future. Thursday, the student will stay in room S213 for a second period of Earth Science. And on Friday, the student will go to Freshmen study hall.
Another thing to notice about this schedule is the student's Guidance counselor (in this case, Bryce Riemer). Should students need to change their schedule, they should make an appointment with their Guidance counselor. They can also go to their Guidance counselor with questions, for support, for help, etc.
