What is the Career Center?
Established during the 2004-2005 school year, the Career Center is located in its own room, adjacent to the Guidance Office. Set up to be "student friendly", the Career Center has two computers and a variety of other resources for our students which includes:
- A library with reference books on college searches, scholarships and financial aid, career choices, ACT and SAT preparation and sign-up, and an extensive file of college and trade school catalouges and brochures
- Two computers designated for student use to help determine career matches, do college searches, etc.
- Guidelines for requesting official transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.
- Extensive filing system with individual college and university information including applications, brochures, requests for information, scholarships, etc.
Beginning in the 2006-2007 school year, a full-time Career Center Specialist was put in place to assist students one-on-one with post-high school planning.
Paula Steiner is available every day from 6:30am - 3:30pm. Students do not need an appointment. Parents are welcome to call or email any time. psteiner@d155.org
