There are 2 awards given each year to individuals on the team:  Most Valuable Player Award and The Chris Voloch Award.  The team Most Valuable Player is an award given to the player who earns the most MVP points throughout the season.

Prairie Ridge Boys’ Golf MVP Determination

The MVP of the team will be the player who performs at a high level on a consistent basis.  Not only does the MVP score well in matches and tournaments, he works hard on the course and off, excels in practice, and is of the highest character.

In order for the MVP award to be earned, a point system will be employed.  Points will be awarded for different competitions throughout the season.  There will be chances to win points at practice, matches and tournaments. 

Points will be awarded on the following scale:

              Practices: 1 for medallist and 1 for practice competitions

              Matches: 1 if team medallist, 2 if match medallist

              18 Hole Tournament: 1 if tournament medallist, 2 if team medallist, 3 if tournament champion

              Conference Tournament: 1 if medallist, 3 if team medallist, 5 if conference champion

              State Tournament: 1 if medallist, 3 if team medallist, 7 if tournament champion

Points may be taken away for the following:

              Throwing Clubs

              Swearing

              Every grade below a C+

              Team rule violation

In addition to the honor of being the MVP, the MVP will earn a plaque, and his name in the school history books and trophy case.
