Time &Place: California, 1959

Plot Summary:  This is the classic 1950’s rock 'n' roll musical. The gum-chewing, hubcap-stealing, hot-rod-lovin’ boys and their wise-crackin’ girls in bobby sox and pedal pushers capture the look and sound of the 1950’s.  When wholesome good girl Sandy Dumbrowski and greaser renegade Danny Zuko fall in love over the summer, they never expect to see each other again.  When they both discover that they’re attending the same high school, Rydell High, social differences challenge their romance. When Danny and Sandy clash at Rydell's first pep rally, Danny isn't the same Danny at the beach. They try to be like each other so they can be together. Danny’s the leader of the T-Birds, a group of black-jacket greasers. Sandy hangs with the Pink Ladies, a group of pink-wearing girls led by Rizzo. The gangs sing and dance their way through such nostalgic scenes as the pajama party, the prom, the burger palace, and the drive-in movie. Grease is a classic musical about teens in love and having fun in the 50’s!
