RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL WRITERS / PHOTOGRAPHERS:

-Generate ideas.

-Interview people.

-Do a survey.

-Attend an activity and take notes.

-Ask questions.

-Pay attention to what people are talking about and write about it!

-Recruit your friends to contribute, too.

-Take (or arrange for someone else to get) photo(s) for your article.

COLUMNISTS:

-Write your own column for every issue.

-Contribute something for another section of the paper.

-Example: College Corner highlights a different college or university in each issue.

SECTION & PHOTO EDITORS:

-Generate story ideas.

-Know what stories/photos are assigned to whom.

-Make sure stories get turned in on time.

-Write your own stories.

-Help with proofreading.

-Prepare photos for publication.

-Assist with the layout after school and during free periods.

-Meet with Chief Editors on a weekly basis.

SR. CHIEF EDITOR & JR. CHIEF EDITOR:

-Generate story ideas.

-Run meetings.

-Assign articles.

-Write your own stories.

-Edit/proofread stories.

-Organize and assist with the layout after school and during free periods.

-Check in with section editors on their progress on a weekly basis.

-Take responsibility to accomplish whatever needs to be finished!

-Help with distribution.
