German National Honor Society

To receive the rewards of the German National Honor Society you need:

• to have a GPA of 3.0 or better in all subject areas
• to have an A- or better in German for the past 3 semesters
• to be in German Club (75% of all activities attended)
• to be willing to tutor another German Student
• to be a role model for others in school and out of school
• speak German to Frau Nagel and other members
• participate at UIC German High School Day to complete against other High Schools from all over Illinois
• take the National German Test and have a chance to win a trip to Germany.

What you get from German National Honor Society:

• more confidence in the German language
• looks great on college applications!
• your name will be mentioned during Honors Night
• after the first year in German National Honor Society you will receive an official Membership Certificate with your name.
• after the second year you will receive a pin from German NHS.
• you will receive a red, black and golden sash at Graduation.
