         Student Involvement - On Stage

In order for student to be on stage for a performance, certain criteria must be met.  This includes filling out an audition form, progress report, and code of conduct contract.  Additionally, students interested in being on stage must audition for a role.  The competition for roles on stage at Prairie Ridge is challenging.  Therefore, the directors recommend that students prepare well and take advantage of any preparation techniques they can find!

Here are some general tips:

1. Practice with others - help critique them and let them critique you.  Accept constructive criticism - it will only make you better.

2. Find out the background of the piece.

3. Try different ways of presenting your audition piece - listen to or watch different versions of the piece.

4. Make the audition piece "your own" - find subtle ways to specifically make the piece original.

5. Sleep well, eat, well, and drink lots of water before your audition.

6. PRACTICE! PRACTICE!! PRACTICE!!!
