February 1, 2009 Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship  http://www.pdkintl.org High school senior intending to major in education and ranks in the upper third of their graduating class. Grants range from $500.

Awarded to a confirmed Lutheran freshman male attending the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus in the fall of 2009. Amount $1,000

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

According to area of study in college(American History, American Government, Political Science, Economics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy).  Some require applicant be a descendant of member of NSDAR. Some based on financial need.   Amount up to $8,000.
February 5, 2008 McHenry County College Presidential Talent Scholarship                                   (see Career Center Coordinator for application) High school seniors who have at least a 3.0 GPA and have exhibited talent, experience and interest in academic activities as well as extracurricular activities.  Must submit a portfolio. Award 60 credit hours of tuition at MCC.

High school senior enrolling in a public university or college within their state pursuing a bachelor's degree. Minimum GPA of 2.75 and demonstrates financial need. Award up to $5,000 per year, renewable.
February 11, 2008 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award                                             http://www.nfib.com/yea High school senior entering accredited 2 or 4 year college, university or vocational/technical institute who demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit and initiative.    Any endeavors offered as community service apply such as babysitting, lawn mowing, dog walking.  Award amount up to $10,000.

High school senior who plans to enroll full-time in an accredited 2 or 4 year college in the fall 2009.  Has demonstrated outstanding achievement in school, community, or work activities.  Must be recommended by an unrelated adult.  Award $2,000.

High school senior living in Rotary District 6440 and preparing for a career that requires less than a 4 year degree.  Aptitude in chosen field and indications applicant would make a good representative are criteria for selection.  Award $1,500.

High school seniors demonstrating financial need.  Some are specific to race.  Award minumum of $1,000
  National CO-OP Scholarship Program                                         http://www.co-op.edu High school GPA of 3.5 or better.  Must be accepted at one or more of the 10 NCCE Partner colleges or Universities specified.  Award up to $30,000.
  "At The Heart of America" Agricultural Scholarship  http://www.usfarmcredit.com/aboutus/1st/scholarships.asp High school senior accepted into an agricultural or related curriculum at a university, college or community college.  Demonstrate academic acheivement, community and agricultural youth organization involvement.  Essays required.  Amount $1,000
  Best Buy Scholarship  http://www.bestbuy.com/scholarships High school senior with minimum cum GPA of 2.5 or better.  Demonstrate strong commitment to and involvement in volunteer community service.  Awards range from $1,500 to $10,000.
  Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program                http://www.monsanto.com High school senior from a farm family planning to enroll as a full time student in an agriculture related major at an accredited school.  Award amount $1,500.
