Thank You!

This page is a special thank you to all the parents, coaches, trainers, boosters, fans, managers, volunteers, feeder programs, secretaries, workers, custodians, administrators, and anyone else who has supported us now and over the years in any way.  Without you we wouldn't be the same.  The program has been alive for a little over 30 years (since 1974) and it has come a long way.

*Thanks parents for everything you do for your daughters.  Our words here could never express the immense gratitude our program or the kids have for you.

*Thanks to all the head coaches over the years: Coach Porembski, Coach McKelvey, Coach Laabs, Coach Kay, Coach Wadlington, Interim Coach Sutherland, Coach Hie, and Coach Altendorf.  A good program needs someone strong at the helm and you all provided that over the years.

*Thanks boosters and fans for all that you have done too.  Your support is greatly appreciated and necessary for our success.

*To all of the lower level coaches over the years, we also give thanks.  Your work is crucial to our success as well.

*Thanks to the numerous managers over the years.  Though it may not seem like it, you all provide a much needed service that all good programs desire.

*Thanks to the secretaries over the years that dealt with all the paperwork and such that had to be overwhelming at times.  You are angels.

*Thanks to our announcers, timekeepers, statisticians, singers, and ticket takers.  You are diligent employees who make us proud.

*Thank you to the custodial staff for setting up and keeping our gymnasium clean and ready to go.

*Thank you to the grade school and junior high coaches over the years who instilled a love for the game of basketball in so many youngsters.  We at the high school level reap the benefits of your hard work.

*A special thanks to the feeder systems into our program.  You all do a wonderful job every year and get so many kids involved that's it's almost unbelievable and hard to fathom what you have accomplished in such a short time.

*Another special thanks to any people who volunteer or have volunteered to coach or help out over the years.  Your help is also essential to our success.

*Yet another special thanks to our trainer who devotes his time to helping keep our athletes functioning.

*One last special thank you goes to the administration.  You do much behind the scenes that most people don't know about that is equally important to our success.

*A very special thank you goes out to coaches Arnie Kay, Bruce Kay, Jim Condill, Ray Card, Bill Mack, and Ralph Schuetzle.  Your time and wisdom is always appreciated.  We thank you for always being there for us and hope we can continue to pick your brains in the future.

*Another special thanks to all the referees who work so hard and dedicate themselves to officiating every game to the best of their abilities.  You are all appreciated.

*Yet another special thanks to all coaches in this area who work so diligently to put the best teams they possibly can on the hardwood.  It is great to have a network of talented people who are willing to converse with and help other coaches.

*Still another very special thanks goes to John Bryan.  You do a great deal for this school and the kids.  We dearly applaud all that you do for us and everyone else at this institution.

*Thanks also to the area media for covering girls basketball over the years.  We appreciate the exposure you have given us and will continue to give us in the future.

Forgive the redundancy of this page but we just can not say thanks enough.  If we have forgotten to thank anyone, please accept our apologies and thanks.

*One last very special thanks to the game of basketball and all the girls who played it over the years.  The players who truly respect it and understand it leave CG knowing what family is all about, what teamwork is all about, what hard work and dedication is all about, what dealing with victories and defeats in life is all about, what sacrifice is all about, and so much more.  To some, it is just a game.  To our players, we hope it's more than just a game.  It can be a training ground for life.  So, thanks, players of CG girls basketball since 1974!  We are proud of you all.  It is you, ladies, who become role models for all young girls today, so remember . . .

There are little eyes upon you                            She believes in you devoutly,
And they’re watching night and day                  Holds that all you say and do,

There are little ears that quickly                         She will say and do, in your way
Take in every word you say;                             When she’s a grown-up like you.

There are little hands all eager                            There’s a wide-eyed little lady,
To do anything you do;                                      Who believes you’re always right,

There’s a little girl who’s dreaming                    And her ears are always open,
             of the day she’ll be like you.                              As she watches day and night;

You’re the little lady’s idol;                                You are setting an example
You’re the wisest of the wise,                            Every day in all you do,

In her little mind about you,                               For the little girl who’s waiting
No suspicions ever rise;                                     To grow up to be like you.
