What is a non-option hallway?

The first floor:

Students in study hall can request a pass from one of their teachers to leave study hall in order to go to the library, faculty office, or computer lab.  The faculty and staff at Prairie Ridge believe that students should be able to use their time to the best of their abilities.  Students will notice that once they are assigned to a commons period, they will be allowed to roam the first floor freely in order to utilize the library, computer lab, and faculty office effectively.

Non-option hallways :

During study halls and commons, students have access to the amenities on the first floor.  Therefore, students are not allowed on the second and third floors during class periods.  Students who are found on the second or third floors without a pass will be asked to return to the first floor.
