In the Event of School Closing

In the rare case of severe inclement weather that may result in a school closing, parents should refer to the school website for a source of information.  You may also listen to or contact one of the following local media sources for the most current information.  The radio stations are: WGN 720AM, WMAQ 670AM, WMCW HARVARD, WBBM 780AM, STAR 105.5 FM, 94.7FM, and TV stations are:  WMAQ CHANNEL 5, WGN-TV CHANNEL 9 and CLTV NEWS. Finally, you may also direct your call to Cary-Grove's switchboard at 847-639-3825 for an updated message.

If school remains open during winter weather conditions, it is always the decision of the individual parents whether or not to send their child to school.

Homework Requests

Attention Parents:

The following are the guidelines for requesting homework when your student is absent.  Please contact your student’s guidance counselor if you have any questions.

Homework may be requested when a student is out for three (3) or more days. Call the Guidance Office at (847) 639-3825 ext. 123 to request homework. We will need to know the reason and the length of the absence. For illness, please include signs and symptoms for the nurse.

When a request is made it takes one (1) full school day before the homework is ready to be picked up. For example, if a request is made on Tuesday at 9:00 AM, the homework will be ready for pickup on Thursday after 7AM.

If your student is out for 3 (three) days or less, please e-mail teachers directly for homework. The teacher can e-mail homework to you or they may drop it off in the Guidance Office for pickup. Your student’s schedule is available through Family Access and the teacher’s e-mail addresses are listed in a directory on this web site.
